Tullamore Golf Club – Course Overview

Nestled in the heart of Ireland, Tullamore Golf Club is a premier championship parkland course located just outside the vibrant town of Tullamore in County Offaly. Established in 1926 and originally designed by the renowned James Braid, the course underwent significant enhancements in 1996 under the guidance of architect Patrick Merrigan. These upgrades introduced three lakes, seven new greens, eleven new tees, and over a thousand trees, blending classic design with modern features .

Consistently ranked among Ireland's top 30 parkland courses, Tullamore offers a par-70 layout stretching 6,472 yards from the back tees. The course is characterized by its mature oak, beech, and chestnut trees, strategic bunkering, and water hazards that come into play on seven holes, demanding accuracy and thoughtful course management .

The closing stretch is particularly noteworthy, featuring the challenging 14th hole—a 474-yard par-4 with a sharp dogleg—and the signature 16th hole, where a stream guards the green, providing a memorable test for golfers .

Beyond the course, the club boasts excellent facilities, including a welcoming clubhouse with a bar and restaurant, a well-stocked pro shop, and practice areas.
